LMI UK Franchise News – May 2025

Welcome to the May issue of LMI UK Franchise News, giving you further insight into the world of LMI and the partnership opportunity.


LMI World Convention

Whenever we introduce LMI to prospective clients and franchisees, we let them know that we have been in business for more than 60 years, across 90+ countries and in that time have worked with in excess of 2.5 million leaders. These are strong credentials and help establish a level of trust. However, it’s a whole other thing to actually be in the room with LMI colleagues from all over the world and hear the stories of individual lives and entire organisations who have been transformed through the LMI process of personal and organisational goals. In April, members of the LMI UK team had the pleasure of joining the 2025 LMI Convention in San Antonio.

This was a truly global gathering with incredible insight and inspiration, fun and friendship shared over 3 days of meals, meetings and a mojito or two! We often talk about the ‘LMI Family’ and this was its ultimate expression. Hundreds of people from every continent united in the shared goal of ‘changing the world, one leader at a time.’ What a privilege to be part of such a generous, passionate, diverse and talented community.


Graduate Graduates at Sony

As part of their Graduate Scheme, Sony Europe have been including the LMI Making of a Champion personal leadership programme, and April saw the graduation of the third cohort of graduates! You can read the LinkedIn post from Silje who has been leading this programme.

This 10 -lesson programme challenges and inspires, as well as giving participants the practical tools, to dream great dreams, realise their potential and be their very best.

At LMI UK, we are so excited about, and committed to, the development of leadership skills in young people we have recently set up a Community Interest Company arm of the business specifically to enable as many young people as possible (most who don’t have the resources of a major consumer electronics corporation backing them) to develop the leadership qualities necessary to achieve all they have the potential to achieve.

More of / Less of…

The LMI process is built around the value of setting short, medium and long-term goals to help individuals, teams and organisations develop their full potential by answering these 3 questions:

– Where are we now?
– Where do we want to get to?
– How will we get there?

Often it can be difficult to know exactly where to start with this goal setting process. Here’s one practical way we help people to begin identifying worthwhile goals. Whether speaking with the leadership team of a large company or just for yourself as you think about your own life and career, this simple tool works incredibly well.

Take one blank sheet of paper. Make two columns: More of and Less of.

Write down everything good, everything you’ve enjoyed and everything that’s led to positive results in the More of column.
Write everything you’ve not enjoyed, found unhelpfully stressful, frustrating or that’s led to negative results in the Less of column.

Keep this an ongoing record, adding to it regularly, and you’ll always have a good basis for setting goals that will lead you on the path you want to go as you take an item from either column and ask, ‘What needs to happen in order to achieve more of / less of that thing.?’ There’s the basis for setting a really good goal!

In these monthly newsletters we always share a little about these 2-hour online introduction sessions to the ideas and practical tools that LMI have been using for 60+ years to help people become more purposeful, organised and effective. They continue to be the best way for LMI UK team members to develop positive, lasting client relationships. Our standing offer of 2 free places to every UK organisation makes the ‘selling’ part of establishing your franchise business simple, friendly and, above all, non-salesy! If you’ve not been to one of these yet, you are welcome to attend (& invite a friend/colleague too)!
